Stage Door Studios has designed an excellent program of activities to give young children (ages 2-7) a chance to experience the joy of dancing and creative movement in a fun and loving atmosphere. We are committed to providing a stimulating and adventurous environment to enhance children's social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative growth. Our staff will use music, props, costumes and creative movement to introduce children to the world of dance. Students will develop rhythm, coordination, musicality and creativity, as well as the ability to follow directions, interact with peers, take turns patiently and gain self-confidence. Most importantly, our classes are FUN!
If your child is in third grade or above, Stage Door Studios is known as a drop-in class studio. Aside from workshops and programs requiring specific courses of training, you may take classes as you wish. Once you determine your level of study, from basic to professional, you can choose a class from our schedule, then come and go with no additional fee. At all times, staff is on hand to guide you through our drop-in class schedule, and ensure that you have chosen the classes that meets your needs and abilities.
Our facility is clean and dancer friendly!! We have sprung floors to help reduce the chance of injury to dancer's knees and ankles. Our front studio has the same flooring as the New York City ballet. We also have wooden floors to hear the crisp sounds of tap shoes!
Our extensive faculty is known and esteemed world wide for their knowledge and experience. You are sure to find a teacher and style that will more than meet your needs or expose you to a completely new experience. Elite Company Information 2008-2009
The Elite Company Members are a dedicated group of students who represent the studio when a performance opportunity arises, compete at regional competitions and perform in the recital. To be in the Company takes a lot of time, dedication, commitment and a love of dance.
Auditions
Company members are by auditions only. These auditions will be held on Monday, June 16 at 6:30 PM and Monday, August 11, 6:30 PM. The fall session will begin on Monday, August 18.
Requirements
There will be three Companies for the 2008-2009 year: Elite I, Elite II, Elite III. Placement is based on age and ability. The members must participate in the scheduled classes and rehearsals.
Uniforms
Each company member is required to purchase a matching Stage Door Elite Company Jacket. This uniform will be worn at all competitions, conventions and any time that the Company represents the studio at functions. The jackets will be ordered according to size, and the cost will be determined.
Company Member Tuition
Tuition is based on the level of Company that you are placed into. The tuition will include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Company Rehearsal and Modern (for the Elite III level), along with elective classes to complete the schedule. The costs are as follows:

Costumes and Required Shoes
Costumes will be chosen as the dances are choreographed and will be charged to your account accordingly. Each Company will perform a tap, jazz and lyrical piece, with additional dances optional. No costume will exceed $100.00 without everyone's consent. The students will need to purchase tights, shoes, and makeup that all match each other and those will be determined once a costume is chosen.
Required Classes and Attendance
Every member is required to participate in all of their company's rehearsals and their required classes. They are also required to dance in all recitals and perform at the required competitions.
Each dancer is allowed 3 absences per semester. (That is, 3 absences before Christmas Break, and 3 absences after Christmas Break).
Competition Schedules and Fees
The Spring competition schedules are usually announced by Fall. We will be choosing three events to attend and will try to spread them out one per month. Once the schedules are announced, we will give you the dates, costs, hotel information, etc. We will also choose one convention to attend in Orlando in the Fall. This event will be optional, as it will require extra time and money.
Announcing Stage Door's Intermediate and Advanced Level "So You Think You Can Dance" Summer Classes! There will be 2 sessions, with special guests and Master Teachers!
We will also offer summer classes for children - 2 to 7 years old - with special summer pricing.
